VULVA is what we call the outside parts of a woman’s sexual anatomy. It includes her clitoris, her labia majora and minora (“lips”), her introitus (opening of her vagina), and the opening of her urethra (“pee hole”).
Many people use the word “vagina” to refer to the entirety of a woman’s sexual anatomy, but in fact, there are specific words for every part. It’s important that we use these words with our friends, our lovers, our children, and our providers. We differentiate a penis from testicles, right? Why not separate vulva and vagina?! Our words matter - say what you mean!
